IP Multimedia Subsystem

IMS

IMS - IP Multimedia Subsystem - is an architecture based on telecommunications and internet open technologies established by 3GPP - 3rd Generation Partnership Project - which standardizes the communication among devices involving voice and multimedia transmission. This interaction occurs between users of fixed (e.g., PSTN and Internet) and mobile (e.g., GSM and WCDMA) networks.

Venturus IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem)-based applications links people to the different ways of connectivity. It is the solution for integration of fixed and wireless telephony, the internet and the media industry.

IMS enables users to get connected through different multimedia technologies such as video communication, shared whiteboards, two-way radio sessions and push-to-talk over cell phone . Venturus IMS manages all the functionalities required for using the network, such as user registration, session control, security, roaming and billing.

Venturus is an Ericsson partner and participate in Ericsson IMS Expert Center. We also offer IMS consulting services and application development in a continuous search for innovation, supporting our clients in moving one step ahead in business through relevant technology.

Benefits

Quality of Services Assurance:

IMS-embedded mechanisms assure the required Quality of Services. By allocating an exclusive data bandwidth, the user can be assured that there will be no transmission delay due to heavy traffic or other factors. At the Telecom Operator's discretion exclusive bandwidth reservation services can be charged in a service-dependent manner.

Flexible Billing:

IMS application billing can be determined according to the business model established for each service. Thus, the Operator or Service Provider can, for example, define a monthly tariff for Instant Messaging services, or charge a multimedia session based on its duration instead of the amount of transferred data. Different billing models can be implemented for each individual service used by the subscriber in the IMS environment.

Reduced Time-to-Market of new services:

The IMS architecture provides a control layer for the management of all network communication, in which countless multimedia services can be made available to the users. This results in lower costs and reduced time for to market of new services.

Open Standard Technology:

Due to IMS open standard-based structure, interface between telecom operators and service providers becomes much simpler. As a result, seamless integration between the operator and the service provider for combined offering of a variety of services can be achieved in the most convenient way.
